5 things to binge-watch this Labor Day weekend

It's a three-day weekend. That means it's time to kick back, relax and watch some really great TV. 

Thankfully Labor Day falls at the beginning of the month, which affords you a whole host of new shows and movies for your binging pleasure. We've rounded up the best picks from the new offerings on Netflix, Hulu and Amazon for September. You have a month before the tables turn again.

For a binge that will keep you on the edge of your seat: Narcos

Don't for a second think that Netflix would leave you hanging on Labor day weekend. The streaming service launched the second season of Narcos on Friday, and by all accounts, things are even more intense as the hunt for Pablo Escobar is on.

If you want something light and funny, but with action and sci-fi: Doctor Who

So you have a lot of time this weekend but something like Narcos or House of Cards is just a little too heavy. Let us help you out with Doctor Who, the long-running British sci-fi series about a time-traveling alien and the humans he brings a long for the ride. The show has been running since 1963 but the re-engerized modern series (dubbed "New Who" by fans) started in 2005 and is heading into its 10th season next year. For a newly-available classic: Jaws

All the Jaws movies are available on Netflix. We repeat: All the Jaws movies are available on Netflix. If you've never seen the Stephen Spielberg classic (we forgive you, begrudgingly) or even if you've seen it 10 times, this is the perfect movie to watch as the last vestiges of summer slip away. Just don't go to the beach any time soon.

If you haveYou Don't Own Me stuck in your head after seeing Suicide Squad: The First Wives Club

You Don't Own Me might have been Harley Quinn's anthem in this summer's super-villain movie Suicide Squad, but another movie claimed it first. The First Wives Club, which follows Goldie Hawn, Bette Midler and Diane Keaton as three freshly-divorced wives carving out their place in the world. And as if those three actresses weren't enough, the movie also stars Victor Garber, Sarah Jessica Parker and Stockard Channing. Just don't tell any of them what to do, don't tell them what to say.

For a teen comedy that's a little off-beat: Saved!

You've seen Bring it On and Mean Girls and the rest of the classic high school movies, but maybe you haven't gotten around to Saved!, which stars your Hunger Games fave Jena Malone and Mandy Moore. The 2004 comedy follows a young devoutly Christian girl who ends up pregnant after trying to "save" her boyfriend from being gay. The concept is a little whacky but the execution is surprisingly nuanced and heartfelt.
