Meyers, Colbert blast Trump administration for transgender bathroom rules

Though the issue is no laughing matter, many late night hosts took time Thursday to address the Trump administration's decision to rescind the Obama administration's guidelines requiring schools to allow transgender students to use the bathrooms that coordinate with the gender they identify with.

Late Night with Seth Meyers

In his segment dubbed "Hey!" Meyers addressed President Trump directly, comically questioning his decision. "First, you demonize Muslims, then immigrants, and now the transgender community," the Saturday Night Live alumnus said.

"There's apparently this fear that transgender kids are using it as ruse to sneak into restrooms and grab people by the genitals," Meyers continued, "but if you're looking for the kind of person who would do that, you need to look no further than the Oval Office."

"We should've seen this coming," the Late Show host said, "'cause if there's one thing Trump is famous for, it's telling people where to pee."

Colbert also had some pointed punchlines for White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer and Secretary of Education/"chunky necklace victim" Betsy DeVos.

Along with commenting on Trump's staff and breaking out his POTUS impression, Fallon briefly addressed the issue. "I saw that Apple is criticizing Trump after he overturned the rule that lets transgender students use the bathroom of their choice," the host said. "Apple says that regardless of your gender, everyone should be able to drop an iPhone into whichever toilet they want."
