Kayla Knuth, Miss St. Francis 2017, will compete in the Miss Wisconsin pageant on Saturday, June 17, in Oshkosh.
Knuth, who gained the title in the annual Miss St. Francis pageant in February, was honored with an official send-off Sunday, June 11, at the St. Francis Lions Club Center, 3476 E. Howard Ave.
In addition to having a chance to meet Knuth and wish her luck, participants will get a peek at her competition wardrobe.
The Miss Wisconsin pageant will be held on June 17 at the Alberta Kimball Civic Auditorium, on the corner of Taft and Eagle streets in Oshkosh.
The Saturday state pageant includes certain events that are open to the public. Those events include the preliminary competitions.
On Wednesday, June 14, Knuth competes in on stage interview and lifestyle and fitness in swimsuit. Her private interview will be on Wednesday.
On Thursday, June 15, she will compete in talent and evening gown segment.
Miss Wisconsin’s Outstanding Teen competition will take place on Friday, June 16.
Those attending the pageant in person may visit with Knuth following the Wednesday and Thursday preliminary shows. All visitors are welcome and appreciated, according to Miss St. Francis officials.
Miss Wisconsin pageant ticket prices are $15 for each preliminary night, $20 Friday Teen Pageant and $40 for Saturday, plus $10 for Post Pageant. Tickets may be ordered online and picked up at the box office at www.misswisconsin.com/miss-wi-pageants/ticket-order.php.
All contestants will appear during the final show on Saturday, June 17, but only the Top 11 re-compete for the title and the opportunity to represent Wisconsin at the Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City, New Jersey, in September.

A $600 "People's Choice" scholarship will be awarded to the contestant receiving the most internet votes.
History was made as Kayla and her mother MaryEllen (George) Knuth are the first mother/daughter titleholders for Miss St. Francis. MaryEllen (George) Knuth was Miss St. Francis in 1982. Kayla succeeded Miss St. Francis 2016 Gina Miliacca.
This fall, Knuth will be a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, majoring in marketing with minors in psychology and theater.
As an accomplished gymnast, Knuth will use her skills to present a gymnastics performance to the music “You Can’t Stop The Beat”. She is an advocate for volunteering and has chosen that as her personal platform.
