CUDAHY - The third annual City Limits Music Festival takes place Friday and Saturday, July 14-15, at the intersection of Kinnickinnic and Layton avenues.

Featuring national country artist headliners both days alongside local talent, City Limits "aims to change Milwaukee’s Southside (specifically in the city of Cudahy) through music," according to organizers.

Alex Ahmad, City Limits Fest chairman, said the festival was originally designed "as a civic celebration for our city and joined many local businesses together for support."

In 2016, the festival saw an attendance (including volunteers, musicians, guests, and paid attendees) that topped 3,000 from seven states, according to a City Limits press release.

"A normally forgotten community gained national attention, winning a 2016 SpinGo Must Go event award," Ahmad said in the press release.

This year, the event is partnering radio station WMIL (106.1 FM). "Our reach will be even greater," Ahmad said.

This year's headlines acts are Granger Smith, Parmalee, and RaeLynn.

On July 14, gates open at 5 p.m. July 14 and remain open until 10 p.m., followed by an "Official After Party" at City Lounge, 3455 E. Layton Ave., until 2:30 a.m.

On July 15, gates open at 3 p.m. and close at 10 p.m., again followed by an after party at City Lounge until 2:30 a.m.
