BAY VIEW - Sea otters and the ocean are coming to Humboldt Park.
South Shore children’s author Janet Halfmann will present an interactive “Good Night, Little Sea Otter” storytime at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 10, at the park, 3000 S. Howell Ave. The story time is part of the monthly summer fine arts festival, Bay View Art in the Park.
“Good Night, Little Sea Otter” is the story of a little otter who puts off bedtime by saying goodnight to every animal in the ocean. Children will help keep the little otter’s kelp cradle from floating away as she sleeps with her mama.
Published by Star Bright Books, “Good Night, Little Sea Otter” was recently released as a board book for tiny hands. The book also is available in hardcover and paperback versions.
Halfmann is the author of 40 books for children. During the event, she will also sell and sign her books. For information, go online to www.janethalfmann.com
Bay View Art in the Park, which also includes more than 40 local artists ranging from painting to pottery to jewelry creators, will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, go online to www.bvartinthepark.com.
