St. Francis — The St. Francis Lions Club, with the assistance of the Deer Creek Intermediate School guidance staff, provided Christmas family dinner baskets to several families struggling financially this Christmas season.

The Dec. 16 delivery at the St. Francis school was made possible by Lions fundraising efforts and generous food donations provided by Patrick Cudahy LLC, Layton Fruit Market, Angelic Bake House and Nikki’s Cookies.

Each family was provided a basket containing Patrick Cudahy ham, generous portions of fruit and vegetables, bread, rolls, and a large assortment of Christmas cookies. The Lions also provided each family with a gift card to pick up gifts for all the family members.

In a statement, the club said: "There are no words that can express the gratitude and appreciation displayed by the families when they were presented with the baskets and gift card. The Saint Francis Lions members' present made them remember how fulfilling it is to give to those in need during the Christmas season."
