Hillary Clinton has a 10-point lead over Donald Trump nationally, according to a Quinnipiac University National poll released on Thursday.

The poll found the Democratic nominee with 51% support among likely voters, while 41% back Trump.

When third-party candidates were added into the mix, Clinton was 7 points ahead of Trump, 45%-38%. Libertarian Party nominee Gary Johnson came in at 10%, and the Green Party’s Jill Stein had the support of 4% of likely voters.

“We are starting to hear the faint rumblings of a Hillary Clinton landslide as her 10-point lead is further proof that Donald Trump is in a downward spiral as the clock ticks,” said Tim Malloy, the poll's assistant director.

Support for Trump and Clinton broke down along gender and racial lines.

Clinton had the support of 60% of women, while Trump was backed by 36%, in a one-on-one match-up. Trump led with men, 48%-42%.

Fifty-two percent of white voters supported Trump, while 41% backed Clinton, who had a significant lead among non-white voters, 77%-15%.

The telephone poll included 1,498 likely voters nationwide and was conducted Aug. 18-24. The margin of error is plus or minus 2.5 points.
