Here’s a look at how insanely close the election actually was in six key states

People crowd a side walk in downtown Washington, D.C. waiting to enter a church, turned polling station on Tuesday.

Although Donald Trump won the election, Hillary Clinton may still win the popular vote.

According the latest results from the AP, Clinton had 59,612,346 votes on Wednesday afternoon, and Trump had 59,401,754 votes

Yup, that’s pretty darn close. And in many key swing states, Trump held a slim margin to win the states.

Here’s a look at six key states where votes were extremely close:

  • New Hampshire : Trump won by 1,437 votes
  • Wisconsin: Trump won by 17,359 votes.
  • Minnesota: Clinton beat Trump by 42,743 votes.
  • Colorado: Clinton took the state by a 50,632 vote margin.
  • Pennsylvania: Trump won by 68,236 votes.
  • Florida: The Sunshine State was make or break for the Trump campaign, and the president-elect took the state over Hillary by just 119,770 votes.

The last time a losing candidate took the popular vote was in 2000 where Al Gore won the popular vote but lost the election to George W. Bush because of the winner-take-all Electoral College system. That's not a good look for the Electoral College system.

If Clinton wins popular vote, expect calls to kill Electoral College
