President Trump has a new nickname for the Washington Post: #AmazonWashingtonPost

Have we just witnessed the creation of a new Trump nickname?

On Wednesday, President Trump tweeted about the Washington Post and Amazon: "The #AmazonWashingtonPost, sometimes referred to as the guardian of Amazon not paying internet taxes (which they should) is FAKE NEWS!"

Trump's new nickname for the paper inspired some Twitter users:

This is only the latest in Trump's battle against the Post, Amazon and Jeff Bezos, owner of the media organization and founder of the Internet giant. He has long accused Bezos of having a "huge antitrust problem."

Last year, then-candidate Trump said of the Post, "This is owned as a toy by Jeff Bezos who controls Amazon. Amazon is getting away with murder tax-wise. He's using the Washington Post for power so that the politicians in Washington don't tax Amazon like they should be taxed."

Since Bezos bought the Post in 2013, both the Amazon founder and the newspaper's leadership have said that the media organization remain editorially independent.

In the days of the Trump administration, the Post has changed its slogan to "Democracy dies in darkness" and broken several stories about the administration, including Michael Flynn spoke with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak about sanctions before Trump took office. That revelation eventually led to Flynn's resignation as the president's national security adviser.

Trump's tweet could have been partially inspired by the Post's Tuesday story about a fake TIME magazine cover featuring Trump hanging in some of the president's clubs.
