One in a Billion — a documentary released exclusively on Netflix on Tuesday — chronicles the journey of the first Indian-born player drafted into the NBA, Satnam Singh Bhamara, from his home of Ballo Ke, a farming village in rural India, to the bright lights of The Big Apple on draft night.

But for the 7-foot-2, 290-pound center who felt the weight of the world's second-most populated country on his shoulders when he was selected by the Dallas Mavericks two summers ago, it's a journey that has only just begun.

Currently a member of the Mavericks' NBA Development League affiliate, the Texas Legends, the soft-spoken 20-year-old still has a lengthy road ahead before he gets in on the NBA action.

A road never before traveled, but a road Singh is working relentlessly to conquer.

"That's my goal. I work every single day. Nonstop," Singh said in a phone interview with USA TODAY Sports, noting that he hopes to make "basketball better in India."

"(Making an NBA roster will) open the gate more for other kids that can come to the USA and go play in high schools, go play in college, go play in the NBA."

The feature-length documentary, produced by OBB Pictures, features NBA commissioner Adam Silver, Mavericks owner Mark Cuban and Sacramento Kings owner Vivek Ranadivé — the first Indian-born majority owner of an NBA team.

"OBB has been tirelessly documenting Satnam's incredible journey over the past few years as he attempted to change history for India and the sport of basketball and we are very excited to share that story on Netflix," Michael D. Ratner, CEO and president of OBB Pictures said in a statement.

"Satnam is playing an important role in both expanding the popularity of the game in one of the world’s most rapidly emerging markets and furthering the NBA's global appeal."
