Dallas Cowboys rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott was solid in his preseason debut, although what he did  hours before Thursday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks drew criticism from Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.

Elliott was spotted at a Seattle marijuana dispensary and video of his visit was broadcast by TMZ. While marijuana is legal in the state of Washington, it remains banned in the NFL. The video did not show Elliott purchasing any pot.

"Well, I think that in and of itself the reason we are talking about is in a way part of the learning process," Jones told ESPN. "But it's not good. It's just not good. It's just not good."

Dallas selected Elliott, a former standout at Ohio State, with the fourth overall pick in April’s draft. He missed the Cowboys’ first two games of the preseason due to a hamstring issue.

Elliott had seven carries for 48 yards in the Cowboys’ 27-17 loss.
