On Monday Delta Air Lines shared news of its plan to significantly increase its presence at Boston Logan Airport — where JetBlue is currently the major carrier — with the announcement of new service from Beantown to San Francisco and Nashville, and additional flights to Seattle and Milwaukee.

Delta will add a daily flight between Boston Logan and Nashville International Airport on Nov. 6, 2017, and, on June 8, 2017, it will add two daily flights to San Francisco International Airport using a Boeing 757-200 aircraft.

JetBlue currently runs two daily non-stops between Boston and Nashville and three daily non-stops between Boston and San Francisco.

The flight to Nashville with be on a two-class, 76-seat CRJ-900 operated by Delta Connection carrier Endeavor; the flight to San Francisco will be on a 757-200 aircraft.

On June 8, Delta is also increasing service from Boston Logan to several cities, with a second daily flight to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport using a Boeing 737-800 aircraft, and a second daily flight to Milwaukee’s General Mitchell International Airport using a two-class, 76-seat CRJ-900 aircraft, with Delta Connection’s Endeavor Air.

JetBlue currently serves the Boston-Seattle route with non-stops, but does not serve Milwaukee.

“We’re seeing growing demand for business travel between Boston and key markets like San Francisco, Nashville, Seattle and Milwaukee,” said Joe Esposito, Delta’s Vice President–Network Planning, in a statement. “And as Boston plays a larger role in Delta’s overall network portfolio, the local community should expect to see additional investments as well.”

There’s more:

This winter Delta will add Saturday non-stop flights to several cities also currently served by JetBlue. Flights between Boston Logan and both Montego Bay, Jamaica, and (subject to government approval) Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, will begin on Dec. 17, 2016, and be serviced by Airbus 319 aircraft.

Delta’s Saturday non-stop to St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, will kick off Feb. 18, 2017, on a Boeing 757-200 aircraft.

And, to accommodate holiday travelers, Delta is adding service between Boston and Southwest Florida International Airport in Fort Myers from Dec. 22-Jan. 2. Those flights will be on a two-class, 76-seat Embraer E-175 aircraft operated by Shuttle America, a Delta Connection carrier.

Delta adding complimentary meals for all on flights to Honolulu

In other Delta news, the carrier announced Monday that it will begin offering complimentary meals, as well as beer, wine and spirits, to passengers in all cabins on its long-haul flights to and from Honolulu.

The expanded amenity begins on Sept. 15, with flights between Atlanta and Honolulu, and will be added to the carrier’s seasonal flights to/from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport beginning Nov. 3 and, on Dec. 17, on flights between John F. Kennedy International Airport and Honolulu International Airport.

To align the Honolulu flights with its other long-haul flights, Delta will offer Delta Comfort+ and Main Cabin passengers two complimentary meal services, one at the beginning of the flight and one prior to arrival.

The complimentary drink menu will include mai tais.
