Friday's forecast: Soggy, windy Southeast

The main weather story Friday will be the drenching rain and howling winds in the Southeast from the remnants of Hurricane Hermine.

Southeast: A soggy, windy, dismal Friday is forecast for much of the Southeast, with Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas seeing the worst weather due to what's left of Hurricane Hermine. Flash floods remain a concern throughout the region.

West:  A few showers will dampen the Pacific Northwest on Friday. Typical afternoon showers and storms are expected in the Southwest and southern Rockies.

Central U.S. Clear skies and warm to hot temperatures will make for a decent day in the Plains.
